Replacing my missing teeth – Margot’s story

What was the problem?

My name is Margot and I have been a patient many years.

In 2019 I had to have one of my teeth taken out near the front of my mouth. I became conscious of the gap in my teeth as I smiled. I also felt like my other teeth were getting worse and I couldn’t smile fully. I only did what I called ‘tight little smiles’ or found myself with my hand across my mouth.

I decided it was time to do something about it.

What was the solution?

My regular dentist suggested that I see Dr Syed and Professor Yates for a consultation and I have never looked back. They developed a detailed treatment plan for me, including having several implants and I went for it!

As soon I walked into the room and saw them both there I felt relaxed and full of confidence about the procedure.

How was the procedure?

I had several teeth removed and implants placed by Dr Syed and Professor Yates whilst I was under sedation.

I expected the procedure to be painful but I did not feel a thing during the treatment and only had a little bit of discomfort afterwards, a lot less than I expected to have.

How are you feeling now?

Since I completed the treatment I feel that I have been given back my smile and people have commented I look younger. My smile looks so good now and I like that it looks natural and my new teeth blend in with my own teeth perfectly.

I am always smiling now, I no longer need to hide my mouth behind my hand or do my ‘tight little smiles’
